Perhaps you’ve reached a crossroads in your life and have been thinking about working for yourself. Or maybe you’ve been made redundant? Or simply always had a dream about running your own business? Whatever your background or circumstances, Outset can help you learn all the skills, confidence and knowledge you need to make it a reality.
In our first 18 months, we’ve supported nearly 1000 people from across Norfolk, and already have helped create 75 new jobs and businesses, generating around £1.5 million worth of value to the Norfolk economy! Our first 18 start-ups have already survived their first year of trading, and some have already grown to employ other local people…
Despite this fantastic success story from a tiny amount of public investment from Norfolk County Council, funding stopped at the end of March, so we’re now closed for just a couple of months. But – we will be opening again in June with our exciting new service! Please don’t go away without leaving your contact info, and we’ll keep you updated.
To help us build on this fantastic achievement and continue to make a lasting impact for Norfolk, we ask people who have run their own businesses, or who have skills and experience that they are willing to share to help others on the enterprise journey, to donate a little of their time for free to the Outset Norfolk Time Bank. We’ve had over 3000 mentoring hours donated so far from all sorts of business people, from corner shops and sole traders, to professional managers and accountants.
Our mentors are really helping us make a difference, bringing a fresh perspective, a wealth of experience, knowledge of what it’s like to work for yourself, and a willingness and enthusiasm to help unlock that potential! And they say that they get a huge amount of satisfaction too – so if you would like to help others get started on the enterprise journey, please donate a few hours into our time bank.
Together, we have – and will continue to – make things happen, and create a lasting, positive legacy for Norfolk.
